In “Necessary Edges: Arts, Empathy, and Education”, Yo Yo Ma makes the argument that art should be incorporated into the STEM education program. However, Education is supposed to prepare children for the real world and if we face the facts, the arts can be impractical field to go into. To teach art in our schools can be a waste of time and resources if they are not going to apply it correctly. Ma seems to pretend that the sciences are the enemy when we know all the good it does in our world. The more we look at science in a negative light, the less progress we will receive. Of course there is a time and place for the arts and they are very enjoyable, but incorporating art into STEAM is not a logical thing to do.

you do a good job introducing yoyo ma’s agreement but you should try to expand on STEM to STEAM. I also think you go a little too harsh on art, you completely write art off in this paragraph. this makes you seem very bias and losses the trust of the reader. try to only suggest to the reader that art may not make a practical job, don;t just say its completely useless in the real world because that’s not entirely true.

Overall good job expressing what yo-yo mama’s idea behind art and science are considered to be. However, I think supporting your information with a quote would have made your claim even stronger. When reading this to me it feels more like a summary of what the passage was to be next time just make sure you have a clear distinction of what you are trying to explain overall. Great job tho!
