Reflection Blog #4

This past week has been very interesting to me in terms of content for this course. I really enjoyed covering “The Legend of Miss Sasagawara” because I am a huge history buff and one thing that really bothers me is that typically in public schools when we discuss WWII, we never really talk about the internment camps that we put Japanese Americans in. It is a grave injustice that is never deeply discussed in United States history classes. As an Elementary Education major, I am always interested in the curriculum of school districts and I find it troubling that I clearly did not receive a proper education on this topic. The movie that we watched provided such raw stories that I think more Americans need to hear. Thank you for covering this topic! It was very interesting to say the least.

Thank you, Taylor! Yes, I so agree–similarly, I did not learn enough about this until I was in college. It is so fundamentally important!
