Last Reflection

As difficult as the annotated digital edition project was, I am so happy I was able to take part in it. I am still refining my annotations but it sure does feel good to have taken on this literary challenge and come out a better writer in the end. I feel that I now have far more technology skills than I did prior to taking this course and I know that this newfound skillset will help me in my professional career. I also knew that I would love this course because the content is incredibly fascinating. It is not every day that we are able to have informed and educated conversations about societal expectations of gender, race, sexuality, mental health, and more with a group of considerate human beings. Thank you for all you did for us this semester! I had a great time.

Thank you, Taylor! This means so much to me, and I am absolutely thrilled that you are so happy with your learning–and that you enjoyed the subject matter. Your contributions helped to make it such a success, and your relentlessly positive and supportive presence helped us all, I am sure, as we navigated a difficult semester. It’s been a joy having you in class again.

Taylor, again, it is so cool to see how different people approach the same text in unique ways! I really liked the PDF from the original publication in the New England Magazine you included with the illustration of the narrator standing over John. I do think that it would’ve been helpful to have links directly from the primary source to your annotations to make it a little more user friendly. However, it was still really insightful how you analyzed the setting in in the ways that you did!
